Josie O’s weight

Josie weighed 2 lbs. 10 ozs. mid-morning on our digital postal scale. The weight chart for Chihuahuas projects her at 4 lbs as an adult. I think that was the projection when she was born, too. Apparently these things are pretty accurate.

We took our longest walk yet this morning, around a full block plus a bit. She behaved really well, with only a little random woofing. Didn’t see any other dogs.  Sorry I didn’t get a better photo. Am still getting used to everything, and seem to have too few hands.

  1. She’s getting there. I liked your earlier comment about liking bigger Chis. Six pounds is a great weight, and I’ve seen ’em fly up onto the couch at that size. Much more like a terrier.

    1. My house is way too chaotic for anything less than 5 or 6 lbs. I think, though who knows? I seem able to make just about anything work out around here if I want it to! BUT my boys are 13, 16 & 19 so no little humans to worry about & every one of my dogs is great with teensies – even the big, goofy coon hound. Grant is huge but likes everybody & everything; the girls (cats) will get out of the way of anything remotely resembling a feisty dog. Pipette can be very terrier like; she thinks she’s 50 feet tall & can take down Megatron with her shadow!

  2. Usually you need to add 1/2 a pound to projected weights under 3 1/2 lbs and up to a pound for projected weights over 3 1/2 lbs for a more accurate prediction from the weight chart 🙂
